It was the devil’s envy that brought death into the world.

It is a question of balancing what happens to be your surplus now against their present need, and one day they may have something to spare that will supply your own need.
Your words are spirit, Lord, and they are life. You have the message of Eternal Life.
Gospel Reading: Mark (5: 21-43)
‘Talitha, kum!’ which means, ‘Little girl, I tell you to get up!’
INTERCESSORY PRAYERS
Christ made himself poor that we may be made rich by his poverty. We pray that we may discern what our true riches are and that we may share with others as Christ shared with us.
That in the deadness of our lives we allow God to take us by the hand and bring us to life. Lord hear us.
That the song in our hearts and on our lips at this Mass be not a dirge for our dead souls but a joyous song of thanks for God’s life in us. Lord hear us.
That in touching the hem of Christ’s garment through the Sacraments, prayer and Scripture, we find ourselves healed of our physical and spiritual ills. Lord hear us.
That we, made in the image of God’s own nature, may rejoice that Christ has conquered death. Lord hear us.
That we share our life and love with those who have not come to the knowledge of Christ. Lord hear us.
Heavenly Father, who does not rejoice in the destruction of the living, keep us safe from the envy of the devil, for only he and his way can cause death in our hearts. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
